Military Pet Relocation
Got your orders ready and a rotator is not an option? A military move can be a real hassle when not having plenty of time on your hands. Whether you are an active duty service member, a DoD civilian or a contractor we are here to help you take your furry buddy anywhere you need.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is a popular expat destination given its business-friendly opportunities, stable and growing economy and very accepting local culture. It also is the location of NSA Bahrain, home to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) and U.S. 5th Fleet. A fairly large number of military personnel with their dependents arrive from overseas and leave the Kingdom on deployments. However, being a part of the military family often requires additional documentation and processes and we are ready to do the necessary to make sure your pet arrives to or comes from any military base in the world.
If you are not coming from a rabies-free country, your pet needs a rabies titer test. It is advised to start the application about 4 months prior to the relocation so that you are well ahead informed of any shortcomings, changes or actions to be taken.
Many people working in Bahrain adopt a pet there and decide to give it a forever home. While requirements regarding export and import of animals into various destinations might slightly change, when it comes to a pet first-time relocation certain procedures always have to be applied.
IMPORT TO BAHRAIN
It is obligatory to provide the documentation of at least two doses of all required vaccines within your pets lifetime. Most current vaccines must be given greater than 30 days but less than 10 months from the flight. Mandatory vaccines for dogs are Rabies, DA2PP combo and Leptospirosis. Bordetella vaccination is highly recommended. For cats Rabies and FVRCP combo are mandatory.
To be able to relocate your pet, it must be microchipped with an ISO compliant microchip (15 digits), for non-compliant microchips the owner must have his own scanner.
The import permit is valid for 30 days after the date of issue and, in order to clear the customs office, the original document must be presented. JetPetGlobal will make sure all the documentation requirements are met and your pet gets home within a minimum timeframe.
EXPORT FROM BAHRAIN
Countries often apply different requirements to military personnel and civilians importing pets. JetPetGlobal will save you all the stress and plenty of time by preparing the necessary documentation on your behalf, informing you about all the details and steps being taken throughout the whole pet relocation process.
